Are you a creative, imaginative individual looking to help others discover their artistic passions? Tanzania Projects offers inspiring Arts & Music volunteer opportunities that enable individuals to share their creative passions with communities, youth and teens in Tanzania?
Our program is unique to the local region and culture, ranging from music therapy and costume making to creative workshops and dance choreography.
As an Arts & Music volunteer, you’ll play a critical role in helping local youth and teens tap into their creative sides and enjoy the benefits of artistic expression.

TP offers unique volunteer opportunities for those interested in teaching music and Arts, sharing creative passions and inspiring others to develop their artistic abilities. Each of our programs are unique to the regions in Tanzania and are structured around the local culture.
Why do Arts & Music project with Tanzania Projects
As part of a well-rounded education, it’s critical that children have access to creative resources and outlets. In many low income communities, however, art and music is not a focus or a priority within education systems.
As a music or art volunteer in Tanzania, you’ll support local teachers by putting structure around artistic programs. By bringing your own creative flair and talent, you’ll help teach youth and teens the importance of art, music and creativity, whether it be playing the guitar, dancing or general arts and crafts.
Your volunteering efforts will help support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals #3: Good Health & Wellbeing and #4: Quality Education.
TP’s programs are available year-round and are ideal for creative volunteers who enjoy contributing to a range of tasks and want to help others discover their artistic passions.
Volunteer requirements

Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or friend who is over 18 to participate in this program

Volunteers aged 16-18 are required to provide TP with parental consent in order to participate on the program independently, and may be asked to provide additional documentation to the local team

All volunteers are required to provide a criminal background check to TP prior to departure, or if aged under 18 need to provide two character reference letters instead

All volunteers are required to have adequate volunteer travel insurance

All volunteers must speak fluent English.
Your Stay
We provide safe, clean and comfortable accommodation, comfortable bedding, excellent breakfast and dinner and housekeeping. This will be a quiet and friendly neighbourhood only 15 minutes from the main hustle and bustle of town. You will have 24 hour gated security, a domestic/cook (who will happily do your laundry for a small fee) and a coordinator who will ensure you settle in quickly and comfortably into your new town. This is a shared home where you will be staying with other volunteers and guests from across the world, so you will never be on your own in your new environment. The house is impeccably clean, well kept, modern and spacious.
How will you get around?
For your placement, you will travel like a local and walk or take public transport. You will need to set a small budget aside for this (around $1 per day by local minibuses, 4 to 5 days per week). It is important you are prepared and comfortable to travel around town, this is a demanding role that requires dedication.
